In the petrochemical industry, co-rotating screw and kneading elements from GTS are an indispensable tool for the production of polyolefins. The raw materials typically come in powder form and are pre-mixed with appropriate stabilizers or additives before being fed into the hopper, in accordance with the manufacturer's license.

GTS offers an extensive selection of screw and kneading elements, either in existing configurations or tailored to meet the individual requirements of our customers. Our customized solutions cover a wide range of processing requirements and enable the processing of polyolefins with low and high MFI values using the same screw configuration. Our goal is to avoid issues like fisheyes while simultaneously achieving maximum throughput.

GTS screw shafts are made from high-strength and corrosion-resistant steels. By using these high-quality materials in conjunction with state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies, we can enable extremely high torque and thus high throughput.

In addition to screw shafts, we offer custom barrel sections with individual temperature control options, equipped with or without flanges as needed. GTS manufactures barrel sections with a workpiece weight of up to 12 tons. Wear technology can be applied either by welding methods or by high-velocity oxy-fuel coating processes to ensure effective wear protection. Starting in 2025, GTS will also offer wear protection measures based on laser technology. When a barrel section is equipped with wear protection, the screw elements running inside also receive corresponding wear protection on their running surface.

GTS provides comprehensive repair services for existing large barrel sections, including the armoring of a wear protection layer or the surface grinding of a flange side to ensure tightness. Special hardened spacers are used for length compensation.
